This weekend GeForce GTS 450’s have BEEN the news, on Saturday they began popping up at most retailers, with some models popping up even before that! Well NVIDIA has finally made the launch official, with dozens of articles popping up late last night and earlier today across the web. Here Nate is looking at several different models and SLI against its big brother in the GeForce GTX 460, on his new test system configuration, read on to see what all the hype is about this $129.99 DirectX 11 graphics card from NVIDIA.
NVIDIA will have just a single sku in the GeForce GTS 450 series, but we wouldn’t be surprised if something else comes out in the months ahead as a GTS 455 has been rumored for some time. This reference GeForce GTS 450 ships with a 783MHz Core GPU clock, 1566MHz shaders and 1GB of GDDR5 memory running at 900MHz (3600MHz effective) on a 128-bit interface. As you can see from the presentation slide above the GTS450 is 8.25″ in length and features a dual-slot cooling design.
