As news broke yesterday of Nintendos potential move to Android Operating System, one has to wonder if these leaked rumors will help justify NVIDIAs investment in Android OS for their NVIDIA SHIELD. Nintendo has reportedly adopted Android OS for their next-generation console, dubbed NX. What this initially means is that the console-maker will be able to expand its horizons with the addition of Android OS developers who are already hard at work creating for NVIDIAs SHIELD platform.

The move to Android OS is considered an upgrade for the lower-than-average powered Wii and Wii-U devices and should give Nintendo a new stream of users looking for more advanced graphics than their current consoles are providing. If these rumors are true, we should be seeing some indication in the next few weeks as the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo rolls into the Los Angeles Convention Center.
