palmOne Treo 650 PDA/Phone Review
The folks at XYZ Computing recently put palmOne's latest PDA/Phone hybrid device through its paces. I'd seriously consider this for myself if my wireless provider carried it. This, and many more reviews from the Net can be found at our forums.
The Treo 650 is 4.4" x 2.3" x 0.9 and weighs 6.3 ounces. This means it is a good deal larger than your average cell phone and a bit bulkier than your average PDA. The Treo 650 also incorporates a VGA digital camera into the mix, a feature which many cell phones are beginning to adopt. The beauty of the 650 is that it is able to combine the attributes of all three into a single device. The problem here is that the smartphone becomes a proverbial "jack-of-all-trades" and we want to make sure it can do each task at least close to as well as a single-task unit, like the phone, camera, or PDA which you are giving up. Of course the smartphones cannot be expected to do each job as well as a product which was designed for that sole purpose, but if the sacrifice is too great the smartphone is just not going to be worth it.

Firefox Tops 50 Million Downloads
Open-source software group Mozilla.org said Friday that its Firefox Web browser has been downloaded 50 million times since its release in November. The group attributes the popularity of its browser to the evangelism of the nearly 100,000 people participating in its "Spread Firefox" campaign.
Mozilla has deemed the campaign, aimed at "wresting control from a monopoly that has let [Web technology] stagnate," a success so far, though its gains have been slowing recently.

Microsoft WinHec 2005 Coverage
Although WinHec might not be the most feature filled convention out there, it definitely gives us a good look in what we are going to be seeing in the future from Microsoft, and as we all know, Microsoft owns us. ;)
IF WE LEARNED anything from Microsoft's Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) 2005, it's that the move to 64-bits will be a very quick and easy transition, with most new systems containing x86-64 processors by the end of 2005. WinHEC launched Microsoft's long-awaited Windows x64 operating systems in XP Professional and several Server 2003 flavors. Everywhere we turned, x64 desktop and server systems were on display. Regardless of whether most consumers will benefit much from 64-bit computing, Microsoft, AMD, and Intel are pushing it as the next step in the evolution of PC computing. In addition to all of the x64 hype, WinHEC also yielded some interesting information regarding 64-bit drivers, Windows "Longhorn," Samsung's hybrid hard drives, and Shuttle's Pentium M-based home theater PC.

Put a Tiger in Your Mac
It just seems to be all about the operating systems right now! I, for one, have been so impressed with all I've read about Tiger that I'm trying to find all the spare pennies I have so that I can run out and get a mac mini with a Tiger of my very own.
With several significant and innovative new features among the 200 additions Apple is touting, I think it's a success. I'm relatively new to Macs -- I switched only last fall after a lifetime on Windows machines -- and I'm not an OS X power user. But I can already see how this upgrade is a definite step up from the previous version of OS X, known as Panther.
The feature I'm most jazzed about, and the one that will have the biggest impact on how I interact with information on my Mac, is Spotlight.

Is this a serious privacy issue or not? You decide, make your opinion known in Legit Reviews' forum.
When a crash occurs the system will record information including what applications were open, what those application types are, and the user information each application currently had in it. For example, the system would record that you had Microsoft Word open and the contents of the document you were working on. The same will be true for e-mail applications and the contents of any e-mail you are writing when the crash occurs.
