Intel Executive Sean Maloney Suffers a Stroke
Intel said one of its top executives, Sean Maloney, suffered a stroke and will take a medical leave expected to last several months. Mr. Maloney, 53 years old, is expected to make a full recovery and resume all his responsibilities after recuperating, the company said. The stroke occurred at his home late last week, an Intel spokesman added. Legit Reviews has worked with Mr. Maloney for a number of years now and we wish him a speedy recovery!
Mr. Maloney, a Briton who has served as Intel's sales chief and held a series of positions at the chip maker, is part of a troika of executive vice presidents who were given new responsibilities in a shake-up last September. Mr. Maloney was named general manager in charge of business operations of the Intel Architecture Group, which oversees all the company's major products. Analysts at that time said the reorganization made Mr. Maloney a front-runner to eventually succeed Paul Otellini, Intel's chief executive officer.
