NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 video card to launch on March 11th

The online site VR-ZONE is reporting that Nvidia has informed their partners that the launch date for GeForce 9800 GX2 has been pushed back to March 11th, but it seems the latest and greatest video card from NVIDIA will still be on display during CeBIT. Rumors around the internet are saying the delay is because the card puts out more than 250W and board partners need more time to develop better cooling solutions. Other rumors surfaced this week saying that the new NVIDIA card will have 2GB of memory. It looks like the rumor mill is going full force ahead. It also seems the card will use an 8-pin PCIe power connector, which is a first for nvidia as you can see below.

Nvidia hasn't provide partners with working cards yet and the final clock speeds have yet to be determined. In the meanwhile, Nvidia has asked the card partners to put up a label on their product boxes to address concerns about end users plugging in the 8-pin connector for motherboard into the 8-pin PCIe power connector on the 9800GX2 card.
