Asustek snatches Toshiba notebook orders from Compal
Asustek has received an order to supply Toshiba with one million notebooks, an order which before went to Compal Electronics, with shipments to commence in May 2007, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times.
Following Inventec, which took over an order from Compal to supply Toshiba with 300,000 notebooks each month, Asustek will ship nine million notebooks in 2007, up from 5.5 million in 2006, on new orders from Toshiba and Dell along with Apple MacBook orders and own-brand shipments, the paper said.
