Intel's Quad Core Coming Sooner Than Later
News from the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco reports that PC makers are ready to launch new systems featuring the upcoming quad-core Core 2 Extreme processor (that's a mouthful). These chips - rated about 70% faster than the current duo-core - are right around the corner hitting the streets in November!
Intel will ship its first quad core PC and server processors in November, aimed at the high-end PC gamer and content creation market, and will follow up with quad core processors for the masses in the first quarter of 2007.
