Samsung Chromebox Gets Faster Intel Core i5-2450M CPU
The Samsung Chromebox is a line of mini-desktop computers that were designed from the ground up to be small, fast and affordable. Samsung was able to get the performance needed for this $329 Chromebox by using an Intel Celeron B840 1.9GHz dual-core processor w/ Intel HD Graphics, a 16GB solid-state drive (SSD), 4GB DDR3 memory and Google’s Chrome operating system. That was good enough for last year, but Samsung has started selling a model this year that features a faster Intel Core i5-2450M dual-core 3.1GHz processor with Intel HD 3000 graphics. The rest of the features remain the same, but the price jumps up to $413.99 shipped on Amazon. The new model of the Samsung Chromebook has part number XE300M22-A01US and it is available now. The Samsung Chromebox measures in at just 7.5" x 7.5" x 1.28", which is pretty compact!
