Leak: Intel Bay Trail Platform and Valleyview Atom SoC
A set of slides have leaked to the internet detailing Intel's upcoming Bay Trail platform and Valleyview Atom system on chip (SoC) courtesy of user Ronny145 on German forum 3D Centre. Six slides were leaked, two of which are shown below. The first one shows the key differences between the current Cedarview SoC and the Valleyview SoC coming in 2014 such as 22nm process technology, quad core CPU, Intel Gen7 graphics supporting up to 2560x1600 resolution, DX11, USB 3.0, DDR3L and "security and experience features".
The second slide goes into detail about some of the features, such as that 22nm tech using Tri-Gate transistors which offer up to 11 hours of battery life; those Gen7 graphics offering up to 3X the performance over the previous generation; quad core CPU with 50-100% the performance of the previous generation and the components of those "security and experience" features, including Deep Safe Ready from McAfee, which Intel bought out some time back.
The other slides give details about such things as support for up to 8GB of DDR3L-1333 memory, comparison between the different versions (T, M & D) of the Bay Trail platform which are all aimed at portable devices; comparison with the previous Cedar Trail platform and finally the schedule showing lots of release dates for preview samples to partners etc, with the important one being the official public release in Q1 2014.
Also wohl definitiv erst in 2014. Valleyview-M/-D jedenfalls.
