Crysis 3 Optimized for PC at Launch: Advanced Graphics Settings Revealed and More!
When Crysis 2 was released, it was built primarily to run on all platforms at launch. This meant that the graphics settings offered to PC users were just the same basic ones as offered on the Xbox 360 and PS3, since the DX11 features took considerable time and effort to perfect. Only later did EA patch the game to allow the full DX11 level graphics experience and the adjustments of the various rendering options it supports. The good news is that with Crysis 3, EA are supporting the PC fully at launch and have revealed the default advanced graphics settings, as can be seen below.
They are also including high resolution textures along with further graphics options, not available on Crysis 2, such as lens flares. EA have improved tessellation performance and introduced character/vegetation tessellation too. One can also see AI aliens running through the fields and bending individual blades of grass!
