MSI Launches the Z77A-G45 Thunderbolt Motherboard

MSI has launched a variant of its enthusiast oriented Intel Z77 Express chipset LGA 1155 Z77A-G45 motherboard, the Z77A-G45 Thunderbolt. As can be seen by the name, this is pretty much the same as its predecessor, except for the addition of the very high speed 10GB/s Thunderbolt interface, which is becoming increasingly important, as more and more peripherals are released which will work with this new interface developed by Intel.

Other key features include 2-way NVIDIA SLI, 3-way AMD CrossFire, MSI's Military Class III components, which have passed the strict MIL-STD-810G regulations to provide the best stability under extreme circumstances; OC Genie II for easy overclocking, PCI Express Gen 3, UEFI BIOS, VIRTU MVP, THX TruStudio PRO, USB 3.0, HDMI 1.4, SATA 6GB/s and Active Phase Switching (APS) designed to save energy when resources aren't needed. Full details are available at the link below.

MSI equipped the Z77A-G45 Thunderbolt with the groundbreaking Thunderboltâ„¢ technology. Thunderboltâ„¢ is the fastest data connection available for your PC, running at 10Gbps. It technology delivers two communications methods, or protocols, on a single cable: PCI Express for data transfer and DisplayPort for displays. MSI has integrated the Thunderbolt controller on the mainboard, ensuring that Thunderbolt is a hassle-free solution that not requires additional cards, cables and configuration issues because external Thunderbolt controllers steal bandwidth from other devices.
