HIS Readies AMD Radeon HD 7970 IceQ X2

HIS will most likely be the first AMD AIB partner to launch a dual-7970 graphics card. The HIS Radeon HD 7970 IceQ x2 will be utilizing a custom PCB and triple slot cooler, which has separate heatpipes for each GPU. Power is supplied to the graphics card by three 8-pin PCIe power connectors giving the card a maximum TDP of 525W. Of course with two Tahiti cores on board the 7970 IceQ x2 will have some serious muscle for high resolution gaming, with a combined 4096 stream processors, 256 TMUs, 64 ROPs and 6GB of GDDR5 memory (3GB effective). For Display connectivity options HIS has incuded one dual-link DVI and four mini DisplayPort connectors. Let's not forget for the extreme enthusiasts out their the HIS Radeon HD 7970 IceQ x2 does support CrossFireX with its single header so if a dual-GPU isnt enough you can hook up another for some quad-GPU action.

HIS Radeon HD 7970 IceQ X2b

We don’t have much in terms of details with regards to the Radeon HD 7970 IceQ X2 apart from the fact that we’re looking at a custom made PCB with a triple-slot cooler with individual heatpipes for each of the GPUs. The card sports no less than three 8-pin power connectors, so we’re talking a seriously power hungry card here that will most likely go well beyond the 300W limit. Connectivity wise the card will support CrossFireX via a single header and it has a dual-link DVI port and four mini DisplayPort connectors.
