Movado Connect Smartwatch has an Always on Screen

By

Most people don’t care much about a smartwatch, but for me it’s one of those devices that once you get used to having it’s hard to be without. I like not having to dig my phone out of a pocket when driving to see who is calling. I also very much like being able to decline calls right from the watch. The biggest annoyance for me with my Moto 360 is that the face isn’t on all the time. It never seems to wake up when I want it to.

Movado is a higher-end watchmaker that is famous for its minimalist faces that only have two hands and a big dot at 12 o’clock on the face. During Baselworld 2017 the company announced that it had a new smartwatch coming called the Movado Connect, but for some reason there weren’t much in the way of details offered. Movado has now unveiled the watch and if you have ever seen a standard Movado watch, you know what it looks like.

Movado says that the watchface will be always on, which would presumably mean the screen is an AMOLED. The face in the images is simple, but as with most Android Wear devices you will be able to choose whatever face you want. The watch looks cool with the silver lugs melting into the band smoothly. The catch with that smooth melting style is that it would mean you can’t just buy any old band to use on the watch .You will either be stuck with what it comes with or will have to buy bands from Movado.

We know there will be five different styles for men and that the launch will come this fall. I would assume that the five different styles will be the same design, but different colors. That is not clarified at this time. The Movado Connect will sell for $495 reports Android Police making it more expensive than many other wearables on the market. The Movado brand is what you are paying for.
