Did you hear about the Acer Predator Triton 700 gaming notebook that was announced this week at the companies global press conference in New York? The new Acer Predator Triton 700 is powered by a 7th Generation Intel Core processor that has been paired with an NVIDIA GeForce 10-Series discrete graphics card for the best gaming performance possible on the 15.6-inch 1080p FHD IPS display with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology. Not bad considering this gaming notebook is just 18.9 mm (.74 inch) thick and weighs in at a mere 2.6kg (5.7 pound) thanks to the aluminum chassis design.

Inside you’ll also find room for two NVMe PCIe SSDs in a RAID 0 array, up to 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz memory and Killer DoubleShot Pro networking. No wonder the cooling system consists of an AeroBlade 3D Fan along with five heat pipes as you need good cooling to keep all that high-end hardware nice and cool. To top all that fancy hardware off you have an RGB backlit gaming keyboard that has a Corning Gorilla Glass plate coating. When it comes to connectivity there is a single Thunderbolt 3 port, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, Gigabit wired LAN, standard sized HDMI 2.0 video out and DisplayPort 1.2 video out.

“Acer is driving some incredible new products for the gaming and VR-ready category and Intel is excited to work together to push whats possible on the PC platform, said Frank Soqui, General Manager of the Virtual Reality and Gaming Group at Intel Corporation. “Its amazing what can be done with the mobile form factor these days not just at the high end but also for emerging VR in the mainstreampowered by our 7th generation Intel Core high performance processors.”

The Predator Triton 700 gaming notebook will be available in North America in August starting at $2,999 and in EMEA for 3,399. This model is configurable, so the price might increase if you want more expensive hardware components than the base model. That makes is one of the higher priced gaming notebooks around, but that is a steal compared to the $9,999 that Acer is looking to get for the Predator 21X.
