Mario Bros. Lands on Nintendo Switch

By

If you spent time in an arcade back in 1983, you probably played the Mario Bros. game that was popular during the era. If you have a Nintendo Switch and you want to play that retro game, it has landed on the Switch Eshop as the first of the Arcade Archives titles for the console. The game supports up to two players.

The players can compete against each other, or cooperate to beat the game. The gameplay has the players defeating enemies by punching the floor near them to turn them over and then kick them before they stand back up to defeat them. The visuals in the game are directly from the arcade era.

Each player uses a single Joy-Con to play. The port was made by Hamster for Nintendo and the game retails for $8 on the Eshop. This is the first of several games that will be landing on the Switch.

Other titles include Vs. Super Mario Bros., Vs. Balloon Fight, Vs. Ice Climber, Vs. Pinball, and Vs. Clu Clu Land. None of those other games has been priced yet, but presumably they will be similar in cost to Mario Bros. Gamespot also mentions that two new games are due today including Golf Story and Picross S along with others.
