Logitech Brings New Racing Wheel Controllers to E3 2015

2015-05-28_00004Logitech G fans have been awaiting the time when Logitech’s lineup of racing wheel controllers would enter the fold of the company’s refreshed gaming brand. That time will come soon with the upcoming G29 and G920 racing wheels that were only recently announced. Both of these wheels are compatible with PCs while the G29 is additionally compatible with the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 and the G920 is additionally compatible with the Xbox One.e3_2015_logitech_04e3_2015_logitech_01The differences between the G29 and G930 are a few additional buttons, the branding, and the indicator lights on the wheel. Both of these upcoming racing wheel controllers have dual-motor force feedback and an anti-backlash system that uses helical gears to prevent gear slipping while the wheel is turned against the force.e3_2015_logitech_06e3_2015_logitech_03Stainless steel paddle shifters simulate the paddle shifting system used in real cars. The inclusion of these paddles is a reason why the G920 will have the six-speed manual gear stick, the Driving Force Shifter, sold separately for $59.99.e3_2015_logitech_05The wheel is covered with hand stitched black leather to give the feeling of a real car wheel. The pedal unit features three stainless steel pedals supported by cold rolled steel rods for durability. To closely simulate real car pedals as much as possible, the accelerator moves linearly while the brakes and clutch each have rubber pads to give each their own progressively increasing resistance when pressed.

Both of these racing wheel controllers will launch at a price of $399.99 at major global retailers. The G29 will launch in July and the G920 will launch in October closer to the launch of Forza 6 for Xbox One.
