Today I have quite the treat, Kingston’s fastest set of DDR3, their brand spanking new HyperX DDR3-2400C9. In the press release they claim it to be the fastest Intel-certified memory in the world. What this means is that Intel has certified this kit to run on their P55 platform at the rated speeds. In short this is as close to an overclocking guarantee as it gets. The Intel document with Core i7 XMP certified modules can be found here. Keep in mind that these sticks are rated to run on LGA1156 Core i7 processors like the Core i7 860 and 870. With other platforms your results may vary.

It has been a while since I’ve had a chance to play with some Kingston memory. In fact, I think it might have been back in the Athlon XP days with my DDR1 HyperX modules. With the last round of Elpida Hyper modules Kingston gained a bit of fame across the web with their DDR3-2000C8 sticks that were cheap, plentiful, and screaming fast. Like all technology those sticks swiftly became old news and these new DDR3-2400C9 HyperX modules are all the rage. Not only are they incredibly fast but they accomplish it with only 1.65v. Now let’s take a closer look at the sticks themselves and put them to the test.
