Memory Performance Testing

Sisoft; Sandra 2007:

Sisoft Sandra 2006 is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system and individual components. The numbers taken though are, again, purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance. Higher numbers represent better performance in memory bandwidth. The chart was based off averaged results of the buffered and unbuffered bandwidth scores.

Kingston HyperX Sandra Scores

Results: When it came to unbuffered bandwidth testing the Corsair PC2-6400C3 easily took the lead since it is running at it’s rated 800MHz with 3-4-3 timings. When it came to buffered scores the Super Talent kit with it’s 4-4-3 timings tested out nicely with the second highest score.

Everest Ultimate Edition 2006:

Everst Ultimate Edition is a professional system information, diagnostics and benchmarking program for Win32 platforms. It extracts details of all components of the PC. It also tests the actual read and write speeds of your memory giving a fairly accurate look of true memory performance.

Memory Latency Testing:

Kingston HyperX Everest 2006 Results

Results: Everest Ultimate 2006 showed some difference between the four 2GB memory kits, but none were significant in the read and write tests. In the new ‘COPY’ test the low latency modules did much better than those with loose timings and again in the letency test.

Now let’s move on to some Sciencemark 2, Super Pi, and Doom 3 benchmarking!
