Intel reschedules launch of Conroe and 965-chipset to July 2006, say mobo makers

Intel are already well into production of their 65nm chips, Dempsey for enterprise markets and Presler for the mainstream market. These chips are to be released early ’06. Digitimes are reporting from “sources” that Intel is to push ahead the release of the Conroe cpu, so that it coincides with the release of the 965 chipset. This makes sence, as otherwise they would have a chipset on the market with no cpu to support it.

Intel will push up the launch of its desktop Conroe CPU and delay the debut of its 965-series chipset so that both will hit the market at the same time in July 2006 in a demand-boosting strategy, according to sources at motherboard makers in Taiwan
