Futuremark’s 3DMark suite of benchmarks has been a long time standard. It has benchmarks that will evaluate nearly any device. We will be taking a look at the Fire Strike Extreme benchmark that is designed for high end gaming PC’s.
The way 3DMark breaks down the scores shows something interesting. For the most part, at either of the three resolutions tested, the Graphics and Combined scores are pretty even. However, if we take a closer look at the Physics score, we can see that the AMD Ryzen 1700X has a major advantage over the Intel Core i7-7700K providing between 24% and 26% boost in the Physics score.
