Insta360 Pro Camera is Google Street View Ready

By

We all know Google Street View, many people use it to check out an area or city before they travel there. Street View gives you an actual view of the street and any homes or buildings on it. I used it extensively when moving to Colorado to see how nice a neighborhood was before renting, many other people do the same thing. Google has a new program called Street View ready that will make it where anyone can add their own content to Street View.

The only camera that is Street View ready right now is the Insta360 Pro camera, which is an 8K 360 camera able to capture still images at up to 5 fps. The camera has real-time image stabilization to keep things smooth and shake free reports TechCrunch.

Google is going to make it where users of the camera can control the camera from directly within the Street View app and upload the content recorded from the Insta360 Stitcher software. The 5 fps 8K shooting mode is a new feature for the camera and is available via a software update specifically for capturing Street View images.

The camera will also get a new USB hardware accessory that attaches GPS data to the images captured automatically. This camera will let people capture their own Street View data, which might be appealing for cities and towns too small to be featured with official Google Street View Cars. The catch is that the camera retails for $3,499 and is the only Street View ready camera out there. However, Google has some of these cameras and will loan them out to qualified individuals and organizations if your area is one they want in Street View.
