Galaxy S7 Preorders Coming Bundled with Samsung Gear VR

During the unveiling of their new flagship smartphones, Samsung disclosed that each preorder for the device (Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge) will come with a shiny new Samsung Gear VR headset. They are also including multiple Made-for-VR games worth an estimated $50 USD to all preorders in the U.S. Preorders for these devices have already started.

360 degree video is also another hot topic in 2016. With the rise of VR, 360 degree video is in high demand with its capability to check out all of the angles in a specially recorded video. (Like this wingsuit video) In addition to the news above, their new Samsung Gear 360 camera was unveiled. This little device can upload 360 video to your Gear VR or share with your friends and family on Facebook.

Samsung and Oculus also discussed a new method for streaming 360 degree video playback called Dynamic Streaming. To improve the streaming capability of such a large video format the new technology plans to deliver more efficient content by showing only the pixels you’re looking at in the highest quality, instead of delivering the entire 360 video in high resolution.
