Futuremark 3DMark Vantage – The Gamers New Benchmark

Performance Settings – 3870 X2 Versus 9800 GX2

To run the entire test suite, just click on the Run Benchmark button in the Main tab of the 3DMark Vantage application. In the professional edition, this will run two graphics tests, two CPU tests, and six feature tests. The tests may take several minutes to run, depending on your system performance. When running the tests, do not touch the mouse or keyboard. Specifically, do not change the window focus away from the benchmark application. Doing so will abort the benchmark and invalidate the score.

The 3DMark overall score is calculated slightly differently for each preset. The default setting is performance, which is what we are running in the image above.

The XFX GeForcxe 9800 GX2 graphics card seemed to do very well with 3DMark Vantage on the Performance preset and had an overall 3DMark score of P9453.

The ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 graphics card wasn’t able to keep up with the XFX GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics card and while it scored higher on the CPU test by just a tad the GPU test was 25% lower. The ATI Readeon HD 3870 X2 was able to turn in an overall score of P7865.
