FreeSync 2 Makes its Way Into Samsung’s New HDR QLED Gaming Monitors

It always proves to be difficult catching up with technology. When 60Hz and a 2ms refresh rate monitor were more than enough, we land ourselves in a time wherein a 15 inch display should be left on average tier laptops. Samsung recently introduced a series of new gaming monitor to their lineup. These monitors feature HDR QLED which delivers the dynamic range we usually find on those huge TVs we see walking through department stores and boast the introduction of AMD FreeSync 2. The monitors can reach a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a response rate of 1ms on the VA 1800R monitor which would be great for competitive gamers.

Samsung’s CHG90 will feature an aspect ratio of 32:9 (that’s double the width of the very common 16:9) known as Double Full HD (3,840×1,080). This makes some games so much easier because it gives us a field of view that is twice what we would normally see on our normal HD displays. The problem with this is that not all games will support it, resulting in a void of empty space. Regardless, who’d complain with an HDR gaming monitor with fast refresh rates and response time?
