Fortnite Update lands for all Platforms

By

Fortnite fans finally have the update to version 2.5.0 available on all platforms. The patch brings with it some notable improvements and changes for Battle Royale and Save the World modes. Among the changes is a new weapon to use for blasting foes and new areas to explore in the PvP mode on all three platforms.

The new weapon in Battle Royale is the Impulse Grenade. This is a new type of explosive that after a delay will send nearby players flying a long distance. The weapon is a Blue rarity item and can only be obtained in Treasure Chests or Supply Drops.

Check out the video at the bottom of the post to see what the Impulse Grenade will do for you. Players can now find Treasure Chests during Battle Royale in the Shrines hidden across the map. There are new heroes and Dragon weapons in Save the World mode that are themed around the Lunar New Year holiday.

Technical changes have been made to Battle Royale for PS4 and Xbox One players. Among those changes are smoother frame rates by decreasing resolution as necessary. Xbox One X players can also now play at 4K resolution and PS4 players should be freed from slow Fortnite patch downloads. The SMG weapon has been removed and some items are now less likely to drop such as the crossbow, minigun, and Chug Jug reports GameSpot.
