First Pixel XL Smartphone Benchmark Shows It Behind iPhone 7 Plus

By

We just found out that the first Google Pixel XL benchmark scores have been uploaded to the Basemark OS II 2.0 database. Basemark OS II is a fairly popular cross-platform benchmark which measures productivity performance (CPU, graphics, memory and web performance). Once the suite of tests is run a final score is given and you can compare the overall performance of and Android, iOS and Windows 8 device.

Pixel XL Benchmark Scores

The Google Pixel XL Smartphone scores 2,373 points in Basemark OS II and according to the benchmark database that is about 30% less performance than iPhone 7S. Both the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and has 4GB of RAM. This means that you can expect general peformance to be the same, but graphics performance would actually be lower on the Pixel XL due to the larger display resolution taxing the GPU more. The Google Pixel starts at $649 and the Pixel XL at $769 for the 32GB models. Both are available for pre-order yesterday/
