Final Android O Developer Preview Lands

By

Android fans out there know that the latest version of the operating system is due out soon. Android O launched in its fourth and final dev preview for the operating system before the official launch happens later this summer. As you would expect the final dev preview before the operating system goes out to the masses has no major changes. With launch so close all the big details and features are ready to go.

While the launch date for Andorid O is pegged for this summer, we don’t know exactly when that will happen. TechCrunch expects that launch will be in August. With no new features added to the fourth dev preview, you might wonder what changed in Android O this time around. The changes added are for incremental improvements and stability.

Over the coming days there will be minor version increases or major Android SDKs, tools, and the Android emulator. Android Support Library version 26.0.0 is now stable. The major focus for this update was to ensure that apps can be developed and tested for the new version of the operating system before it lands.

Andorid O is anticipated and brings with it better notification support from the operating system, it will support picture-in-picture mode, autofill, and lots more. Andoid O is also going to get features aimed specifically at optimizing battery life for more runtime away from an outlet. Additional battery life is always one of the most important things for Android users. Along with the new update, Google Play is also accepting apps complied with the latest API.
