CrystalDiskMark is a small benchmark utility for drives and enables rapid measurement of sequential and random read/write speeds. Note that CDM only supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ) with a queue depth of 32 (as noted) for the last listed benchmark score. This can skew some results in favor of controllers that also do not support NCQ.
The SATA III 6Gbps Testing was done using OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SATA6 SSD drive.
Benchmark Results: The EVGA Z68 FTW was able to take the top spot in CrystalDiskMark Sequential Read with 477.2MB/s. The sequential write of the EVGA Z68 FTW was 178MB/s which is spot on with everything else we have tested.
HD Tune Pro 4.01 is an extended version of HD Tune which includes
many new features such as write benchmark, secure erasing, AAM setting,
folder usage view, disk monitor, command line parameters and file
Benchmark Results: In HD Tune 4.61 the EVGA Z68 FTW was able to take the top spot across the board, with the exception of the Burst Rate Write. The Average Read of the Z68 FTW was 499.4MB/s and the Average Write was 446.9MB/s. The next closest system was the ASUS P9X79 Pro which is virtually identical to the Z68 chipset in terms of SATA technology.
