EKWB Releases their latest Z170 EK-FB ASUS M8G Monoblock
Today, EKWB has announced their first LGA-1151 socket Skylake CPU monoblock, the EK-FB ASUS M8G, designed specifically for the ASUS Maximus VIII Hero, Ranger, and Gene motherboards running on the Z170 Chipset. This unique waterblock is capable of cooling not only the CPU, but also the motherboard’s CPU power regulators or MOSFET modules. The end result is a cool processor and power regulators which in turn could potentially lead to higher overclocking capabilities and higher stability of the overall system.
It is nice to see companies jumping in and creating monoblocks such as the EK-FB ASUS M8G. For an enthusiast that likes to keep their system as clean looking as possible with the least amount of possibility for a water leak, this is definitely the way to go. Conventional solution for this given configuration would include a CPU waterblock, and additional MOSFET waterblocks, with proper piping in between. Although with such configuration the risks of a leak inside the system are much higher.
The EK-FB ASUS M8G waterblock is made of nickel-plated electrolytic copper while the top is made of quality acrylic glass material. The monoblock is designed after the EK-Supremecy EVO, which has been previously reviewed by many review sites as a very efficient waterblock solution for today’s water cooled systems. The waterblock comes with a high flow rate design to make sure that even weaker water pumps would be able to efficiently cool the CPU and the MOSFET power regulators.
EKWB is selling the EK-FB ASUS M8G waterblock on their website for $136.99.
