Doomfist Now Playable in Overwatch

By

The long awaited update that brings with it the new playable character for Overwatch gamers has launched. The big item in the update is the new playable character Doomfist, an offense character. Doomfist is available on all platforms that are supported by the game including PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Prior to this launch, the only place where you could take Doomfist for a spin was in the Public Test Realm on the PC version of the game. Some changes were made prior to the public launch of Doomfist reports Gamespot. Namely, the range of the Rocket Punch was reduced while the characters Ultimate was given a UI indicator to help players tell how effective the attack would be.

Doomfist isn’t all that the patch brings with it, there are also adjustments inside for other characters. Reinhardt’s hammer nwo swings more quickly and Zyra’s Ultimate is now able to disable all movement abilities for other players trapped inside. The Flashbang that McCree throws also slows down enemies affected by it more. Adjustments were also made to the Reaper Shadow Step sound and voiceover allowing players who prefer Reaper to be more stealthy.

D.Va also has new sound effects and voice lines for Defense Matrix and one of the voice lines lets you know when the character absorbs an enemy Ultimate. A number of changes having nothing to do with playable characters have made the update including improvements to the Highlight system. This allows players to capture clips and save then manually. The update also reduces the likelihood that you receive duplicate items from loot boxes. Blizzard has full release notes on everything the update brings.
