DFI ships Nforce 4 SLI / Ultra boards

By

DIAMOND FLOWER INTERNATIONAL (DFI) has managed to be the first tier two motherboard manufacture to ship Nforce 4 SLI boards. Asus was definitely the first one and MSI and Gigabyte were following with its SLI announcements, but DFI managed to jump the gun on its tier two competitors.

Two days ago, DFI started shipping its motherboards in US while the European part is selling and sampling these boards as we speak. We know that DFI postponed its original plans for two weeks since it wanted to improve some hardware things on its sample motherboards, but now the boards are finally sampling and shipping at the same time. We are informed that Friday should be the day when you should be able to get DFI Nforce 4 SLI and Ultra motherboards in most parts of the world.

DFI claims high overclocking for these boards and this link seems to back up its claims, here. We have to say that it’s not an easy task to get 43353 3Dmarks 2001.

DFI is shipping three models: LANParty NF4 SLI-DR, LANPartyUT NF4 SLI-R and LANPartyUT NF4 Ultra-D. The first two boards are based on SLI and the last one is based on Nforce 4 Ultra chipset. Suggested retail prices for these boards are $229 and $189 for the two SLI boards, and $159 for Ultra board.

We know that at least in Europe some of our colleagues managed to get these boards to play with and I guess that reviews will follow soon. Now we are waiting for Abit and Epox to respond.”
