DDR2 Memory: Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP)Mon, May 15, 2006 - 12:00 AM
slides 7 – 9
On the seventh slide NVIDIA covers how EPP will help out beginner and expert overclockers. It is a good thing to see that NVIDIA is looking at this from the perspective of both enthusiasts and the novice!
Corsair is currently shipping two memory modules that are “SLI-Ready” and they are currently shipping to retail and e-tail starting today. Corsair’s high performance part is their PC2-8500 part which runs at a cool 1066MHz at 5-5-5 timings, which runs just fine on the upcoming AMD AM2 platforms from NVIDIA.
Here we see a slide on Corsair’s EPP and it helps bring everything together that I talked about thus far. Note how they make it clear that you can have two full profiles or four abbreviated profiles. From our understanding you can have one or the other, but not both.
