Core i7 brings with it massive increases in memory bandwidth thanks to its on-die memory controller, amongst other things. Memory performance really soars on our CyberPower system thanks to triple channel 1800MHz DDR3 from Kingston!

PCMark Vantage

In PCMark Vantage we see that the CyberPower PC is faster than the Core 2 Quad based LANShark in all of our testing. This was not unexpected as you can see where the additional cost of the Core i7 system gains you performance. The LANShark was no slouch at all and really goes to show just how big of jump the multi-threaded performance adds thanks to the new Intel architecture.

3DMark Vantage

Again, we see a big increase here, which is to be expected as we have 4 GPU’s in the Gamer Infinity GTX compared to the LANShark having just two.

The pair of 300GB Velociraptors in RAID 0 really shows their power here. Compared to a single 300GB Velociraptor, average sequential read speed is up about 74MB/s while burst transfer was up nearly 200MB/s!!
