The Test System
With the demo that was distributed to reviewers Nvidia also included some handy charts indicating the performance gains from the PhysX engine. Rather than use their canned results, though, we ran our own tests using our office PC that uses an NVIDIA 780i SLI motherboard in conjunction with an EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 video card and an Intel QX9650 processor that is running at 3.2GHz.
The Video Cards Used:
- EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 (ForceWare 180.48)
- EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 with an EVGA GeForce 9600 GT as a dedicated PhysX card
- ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB (CATALYST 8.12)
