Cooler Master Releases MasterCase 5 and MasterCase 5 Pro Modular Cases

By

Earlier today on their official Facebook page, CoolerMaster announced that the cases shown off previously at Computex 2015 that generated lots of interest, the MasterCase 5 and MasterCase 5 Pro, have been released and are now available for sale to the public. These Mid-Tower ATX cases offer an updated take on classic CoolerMaster case design and are modular, with CoolerMaster offering various upgrades that can be added to the case, such as top handles, drive cages, I/O panels and more.

MasterCase Pro 5CoolerMaster is encouraging users to customize their cases and be able to use the MasterCase series across several builds without it becoming outdated. The key to this will obviously be user adoption and ongoing support from CoolerMaster, but it’s a unique concept. We’ve already seen CoolerMaster tease upgrades such as tempered glass side panels, so it will be very interesting following this product line to see what upgrades CoolerMaster rolls out over time.

We expect CoolerMaster to roll out more models in the MasterCase series in the future, offering higher end and lower end models. For now, the MasterCase 5 Pro looks to be a compelling option, with excellent watercooling support, solid cable management features and modular drive cage support. The less expensive MasterCase 5 will save you $30, but you’re losing out on top panel radiator support, a side window, 140mm fan and other features that adding will end up costing far more than $30.

CM MasterCaseThe MasterCase 5 is currently retailing for $109.99 at Amazon and the MasterCase 5 Pro model is priced at $139.99. Both cases are already showing that they are out of stock.

Accessories for the MasterCase 5 and MasterCase 5 Pro can be found at the CoolerMaster USA webstore. We see that the windowed side panel can be purchased for $24.99, so prices seem to be fair and in-line with the competition, though the part selection is currently very limited.
