The Chainsmokers get a Custom Xbox One S Console

Xbox is set to start building some cool one-of-a-kind Xbox One S consoles for celebrities. The first custom console from Microsoft is an Xbox One S for celebrity DJ duo The Chainsmokers. Microsoft says that the design of the custom console brings together light and sound for a stimulating experience like the duo’s shows provide fans.

The console uses a small USB-powered microprocessor that works in real time and is able to convert sound into a dynamic light show using panels on top of the console. The light show uses sixty different miniature pixels that glow on a multi-layer acrylic display to create a 3D effect.

“We were really pumped to work with Xbox on this project and help bring our music to life in a new way, by combining it with the best gaming console in the world,” said The Chainsmokers. “We knew the team would do something amazing, but when we saw the custom Xbox One S for the first time, we were both blown away by how cool the design is.”

The Chainsmokers will give the custom console away to one of their fans via their twitter account in a contest running until September 17. Microsoft says that there will be other custom Xbox consoles available through the remainder of the year made in cooperation with music, sports, TV, fashion, art, and Hollywood personalities.
