CES Unveiled 2015 Las Vegas NV

Just a couple days before the start of the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show we had the opportunity to get a preview of some of the tech that will be at CES. Here are a couple of the items that we found that we enjoyed checking out.

Ozobot

OZOBOT is little robot that just about anyone can program to do what you want it to through a series of codes. All of the coding for OZOBOT is done in blockly which is a good way for kids, or anyone to begin learning the basics about coding. The OZOBOT above was given the instructions to stay on the green zone, it would continually follow the green line until it ended, at which point it would either turn around or follow it left or right.

The track above for OZOBOT consisted of several different surfaces, including a paper track, track on several ceramic tiles and a couple of tablets. It was entertaining watching the various OZOBOTs follow the varying paths and commands depending on the color it ran into.

TrackR Bravo GPS Locating Device

TrackR

While wandering around the show floor at CES Unveiled, I stumbled upon a little device called TrackR Bravo. The TrackR Bravo is a slick little unit that can easily attach to just about anything you could potentially lose. The TrackR Bravo is very similar to the size of a quarter, an is only 3.5mm thick. Tucked within the TrackR Bravo is an antenna the gives this little device a range of about 100 feet. The TrackR Bravo is going to make losing stuff a thing of the past, or perhaps maybe just looking for things will be a thing of the past!

The TrackR Bravo is built out of aluminum and plastic, the outer aluminum shell is anodized and is available in a variety of colors for you to choose from. All in all I think the TrackR Bravo is a great little product (at least from what I’ve seen of it). The TrackR Bravo is going to hit the market in the near future with retail cost of only $29! I typically spend enough time looking for my keys in the morning that this will easily pay for itself! Another item that is frequently going missing is my phone. The TrackR Bravo works in reverse as well! Simply push the button on the Bravo and it will cause the phone to ring, even if it’s on silent!

Hxtar Sapphire Like Glass Screen Protector

Hxtar Sapphire Like Glass Screen Protector

This is another little gem I found at CES Unveiled that I found interesting. The HXTAR Sapphire Like Glass is an incredibly flexible, yet incredibly durable screen protector for todays smart phones. The SLG screen protectors range from $47 to around $67, but if you’re trying to protect a $600 smart phone, it’s only wise to put a little into the protection.

Hxtar Sapphire Like Glass Screen Protector

This is a glass screen protector that is quite flexible as you can see above. While it’s extremely flexible, the Sapphire Like Glass is also considered incredibly hard, it has a hardness rating of 8 on the Mohs’ Hardness scale. Traditional Glass is rated at only 5-5.5 on that scale.
