This is what makes it all possible, the USB 3.0 to SATA converter. You can see the small LED in the middle of the board so it looks easy to mod if blue just isn’t your color.

For those looking for a small form factor backup drive that won’t leave you waiting hours to complete, Super Talent has the Storage POD mini. This is an SSD based USB 3.0 drive with capacities from 60GB all the way up to 480GB. It features One Touch Backup, giving you an incremental back up of your system at the touch of a button. It’s capable of up to 260MB/s Sequential read and 220MB/s Sequential write. Another thing that sets this drive apart from others is that it has a Write Protect Switch. This helps to prevent unintentional writes from viruses and other malware.

The most interesting and practical device we found a Super Talent’s booth was this USB 3.0 drive. While they did not provide us with the final name we do know some of the specifications. This drive in particular was 64GB in size and has some serious performance under the hood!

Just in case you’re not sure what you’re looking at, that is MLC flash with a SandForce SF-1222 controller! You get extreme speeds from a USB 3.0 drive as well as wear leveling and all of the other advancements that come with an advanced controller. Of course with it being USB you get backwards compatibility with USB 2.0. With the right software on this drive and a USB 3.0 you could have almost all of your software, music, games, and favorites all on the go with the speed of a normal PC!

That’s all from Super Talent at CES 2011!
