Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Tipped for Multiplayer Only

Fans of the Call of Duty franchise have been gobbling up rumors about the next game in the franchise, Black Ops 4. New rumors have surfaced this week and those rumors claim that the game wont have a single player story mode. The rumor comes from sources claiming to be familiar with the project.

If this rumor is true it will make Black Ops 4 the first game in the franchise to come without a campaign. It will also mean that fans of the franchise not into online multiplayer gaming will have no interest in the title. Activision has only said that it won’t comment on rumor and speculation and that the game will be revealed on May 17.

According to the sources as the launch date for BO4 neared it became clear that the single-player campaign wouldnt be finished. Sources claim that Treyarch, the developers of the game, decided to focus on expanding multilayer and the zombies mode instead.

Cooperative modes are said to be the stand-in for the missing campaign. If you want a Call of Duty game with a campaign this year, the Modern Warfare 2 remaster will be the ticket. That game is said to ship minus the multiplayer content from the original reports Polygon.
