Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Tipped for 2018

Gamers looking forward to what video games this year might bring will be glad to hear that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the latest game rumored to land in 2018. The rumor comes from forces claiming to be close to developer Treyarch, the same company that developed the other games in the Black Ops franchise.

These sources claim that the game is set to launch before the end of the year. Word is that the new game will ditch that sci-fi setting that the last game offered and use a more “grounded” setting reports Den of Geek. The exact era the game will be set it is unknown.

We are curious if the new game might use a setting that hasn’t been tried before in the franchise. The franchise has been set as far back as the Cold War era so far. With WWII shooters being so popular, perhaps Black Ops will go back to that era. It would also be cool to see the game try a setting largely ignored- the Korean War.

There have been reports that Treyarch might be working on a version of the game for the Switch. That would make sense with the popularity of that console and how well third-party games for the console have been selling.
