The retail packaging for the BIOSTAR TPower X79 is the typical red holographic design that we have been seeing from them recently. The front of the packaging puts emphasis on several of the key features. Some of the key features being highlighted include; 3-Way NVIDIA SLI, 4-Way CrossFireX, 8 layer PCB, and two ounces of copper.

We noticed a little bit of a misprint on the retail packaging for the BIOSTAR TPower X79. Notice that the 4-way CrossFireX is being utilized by four memory DIMMs? We did! We contacted BIOSTAR and the said that it is in the process of being corrected.

Removing the box that carries the retail bundle for the BIOSTAR TPower X79 we get to see our first look at our shiny new Intel X79 motherboard. It is a little bit obscured by the anti-static bag, at first glimpse it looks like it’s going to be a nice looking board.

We mentioned above that the bundle for the BIOSTAR TPower X79 is a bit on the light side. Well as you can see, we weren’t exaggerating. All that we received with our BIOSTAR TPower X79 motherboard is the I/O shield, six SATA cables, a dual card SLI bridge, a dual card CrossFireX bridge, manual, and installation CD. At a minimum I would have liked to see a triple SLI bridge, the board supports it but if you plan on running triple SLI you will need to purchase one separately.
