Benchmarking The ASUS Zenbook
The ASUS Zenbook scored P1757 on 3DMark Vantage. The Intel HD 3000 graphics was enough to score 1400 on the GPU test and the Intel Core i5-2557M helped score 7409 on the CPU test.
In PCMark 7 we found the ASUS Zenbook UX31E had an overall score of 3383~
One of the big video encoding benchmarks right now is x264 HD v4.0, so we ran that and found that this Ultrabook averaged 65.23 FPS and 11.71 FPS on the second pass.
Moving along to Cinebench we found the ASUS Zenbook UX31E with the Intel Core i5-2557M processor scored 10.21 FPS on the OpenGL benchmark and then 2.12 points on the multi-core CPU test.
A quick look at the memory performance showed just shy of 13 GB/s of bandwidth on the 4GB of DDR3 1333MHz memory!
A quick run of CrystalDiskMark v3.0.1 showed the sequential read speed at 437.8 MB/s and the write speed at 253 MB/s! The SanDisk U100 128GB SSD is showing SATA III speeds that are impressive for a portable notebook! This is the secret sauce of this notebook and why is feels so fast!
Taking a look at another storage benchmark, we find that the SSD reaching speeds of up to 491MB/s read and 311MB/s write in ATTO!
The final storage benchmark that we wanted to run was AS SSD and it showed 430MB/s read and 307MB/s sequential write speeds. As you can see this notebook is no joke and while the 4K speeds aren’t that impressive they are still better than what you see on most notebook hard drives.
