Final Thoughts and Conclusion
The Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P motherboard is a great board to be looking at to build an inexpensive powerhouse. When you consider what you get for the price and the performance, there is no reason not to look at this board if it has the features you want as well. Let’s break it down.
The performance of the board was really good. It kept up with the more expensive boards that had the 790FX and 790GX chips in them. In fact, it even outscored them in a few of the tests. There is really no real world performance difference that would be that noticeable between the boards in most situations, but we already know that, and have been making that point for a while now. The difference is in the features on a board.
The bundle is very thin with this board. That may or may not hinder the buyer as he makes a decision. It is not like most people need 20 SATA cables that come with some boards. This is a budget board, and cutting costs means you do not get all the goodies that may come with higher end items. You get enough to get you up and running, which is probably plenty for most.
The layout of the board is also very good, other than the pesky positioning of the 8-pin 12v connector. Setup is easy since the board is so clean.
Overclocking of the board was fantastic! Was it as good as the 790FX board? No, but it costs less than half of the price as well -- all while performing nearly as well in overclocking!
Pricing of the board is fantastic. $79.99 shipped for a board that is as good as this makes this a real steal. As Nate mentioned in his recent processor review, you can buy this Gigabyte board, the CPU and DDR3 ram for the cost of the many of the mainstream Intel Core i7 processors. That is something that most people will and should consider if they are building their own system right now.
Legit Bottom Line: The Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P is a motherboard that should help anyone needing to build a system do it, even in tough economic times, without feeling like you are getting a basement bargain item. It is fast, easy to use and affordable. What more could you ask for?
