Final Thoughts and Conclusions
The ATI Radeon HD 4770 graphics card might cost just $109, but the card doesn't look and perform like what many would expect out of a card in that price range. The Radeon HD 4770 was able to keep up with the Radeon HD 4850 and GeForce 9800 GTX+ in numerous benchmarks as a testament to that. For those that game in the 1280x1024 to 1680x1050 resolution range, the Radeon HD 4770 should be fine for most games with average settings as our testing had the image quality cranked all the way up in almost every test and the card did fine.
AMD informed Legit Reviews that the Radeon HD 4770 will have an expected street price of about $109, which will be brought down further to $99 through mail in rebates that are said to be coming soon. If that proves true the Radeon HD 4770 offers a great price versus performance value for those looking to update their system without breaking the bank. This is also not a paper launch as the Radeon HD 4770 is already listed on Newegg!
No rebates are listed on Newegg yet, but once they are posted these cards should start selling as they offer great performance, low power consumption and low noise. The only negative feelings to be had while using the Radeon HD 4770 were fixed this week with a vBIOS update, so it really has no major negatives. The 40nm RV740 GPU is a welcomed addition to the ATI lineup and consumers on a budget should be happy with the launch of this graphics card.
Legit Bottom Line: The Radeon HD 4770 512MB graphics card brings all the latest hardware and process technology to the $109 price category.
