The Test System
Today, I'm using my default Intel test bed based around an Asus X48 Rampage Extreme and an Intel Core 2 Quad QX9650. The memory was running at 1333MHz with 7-7-7-21-2T timings. Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit was the operating system of choice with the SP1 patch applied. For the ATI cards the Catalyst 8.9 drivers were utilized. For the overclocking segment there was no additional cooling applied to the cards and the tests were performed prior to removing the heatsink for the bare card images.
