Overclocking Results

As we looked at overclocking the Asus Striker II NSE, we assumed it would be a great overclocker because of its focus as an enthusiasts board. We were not disappointed by the results at all! Especially at the default multiplier overclocking! Let’s take a look...

We reached an astounding 425fsb using the default multiplier! This is the highest overclock we have ever reached with the Q6850 that we have been using in our testing. Needless to say, we were well pleased!

Once we lowered the multiplier for our CPU, we expected it to scale quite well as we pursued the max FSB we could get. Though it did well, it did not do as well as we thought it might. Don't get me wrong, 456MHz FSB is not terrible, but once we reached 425MHz FSB, we thought it would reach a lot closer to the 500MHZ FSB level. Hopefully some more BIOS tweaks will allow us to push it even higher in the future.
Overall, the board really is a monster overclocker. And with the ability to lock the dram frequency, lowering the CPU multiplier is really not that necessary.
