Retail Box and Bundle

HIS Radeon HD 4870 Graphics Card Retail Box

The retail card that we have is the HIS Radeon HD 4870, which features an MSRP of $299 is the new flagship graphics cards for AMD.  This card has 1.2 TeraFLOP of computing power, which makes it slighty quicker than the ATI Radeon HD 4850 that we reviewed last week. The retail box is flashy, but simple enough to get things straight to the point.

The retail box for the HIS Radeon HD 4870 has a simple design on the front and on the rear it lists the features and benefits as well as the system requirements for the card.

The bundle of the HIS Radeon HD 4870 is pretty simple.  Our card came with a single DVI to VGA adapter, DVI to HDMI adapter, HDTV adapter, CrossFire bridge, an installation guide and a screwdriver/flashlight. A driver CD-ROM disc will also be included, but when we got the card it wasn't included since the drivers were still beta. It should be noted that the card has built-in HDMI with 7.1 surround sound and on-chip HDCP support for those that want to use the unified video decoder (UVD) for Blu-Ray and HD Video playback.
