ASUS S62J Benchmarks
We also tested the Kingston DataTraveler 400 on an ASUS S62J 'white box' notebooke with a Core Duo T2500 @ 2.0GHz. We again ran the Removable Storage test found in SiSoft Sandra Lite XII to get read and write performance numbers.
Kingston stated that the DataTaveler 400 was to have data transfer rates of up to 20MB/sec. read and 10MB/sec. write. The 2GB Kingston DataTraveler 400 was found to greatly exceed the advertised read ratings! On the 256kB test the DT400 was faster than any of the drives we have tested on the ASUS S62J laptop.
On the 64MB file test the Kingston DT400 was close to the advertised 10MB/sec. write speeds and made the 20MB/Sec read specification look silly. This is one fast drive when it comes to read, but only average when it come to write speeds as four of the seven drives were able to write faster.
