Final Thoughts And Conclusions
With so much attention on data privacy and security these days, I have a good feeling we will be seeing more attempts to secure mobile storage devices in the near future. Having reliable portable media is almost a necessity in colleges and schools and there's no place for unprotected data in today's work environment. Everyone needs to take the proper steps to ensure their personal data remains safe, even if that data resides on a device that has been lost or stolen.
When it comes to pricing the 2GB Corsair Padlock that we reviewed here today can be found for $36.99 plus shipping, which is relatively little cost for someone wanting to protect and store data while on the go!

Legit Bottom Line: Corsair has done an excellent job with a design that is secure without the need for platform dependent software or complex and expensive biometric devices. While it’s not the most fashionable design, this is clearly a product of function over form. Data transfer rates are ample enough for most users and the only real drawback is that the max capacity available is 2GB, which I expect Corsair to expand before long. With the well written documentation included and Corsair’s reputation for quality components, I highly recommend the Flash Padlock for those needing to keep their data secure but mobile.
