Image Description

The above picture is of the latest VIA Mobile-ITX, which hopes to bridge the PC and cell phone divide. The Mobile-ITX solution is a tad big for a phone but keep in mind that the PCB pictured above features a processor,  chipset, 256MB of memory, dual USB connections, a headphones output, integrated graphics and storage connections for hard disks, flash drives, etc. All of this on a prototype board that measures in at just 75mm x 45mm.  Now, aren't you a little more impressed?

Here is a closer look at the Mobile-ITX prototype that is basically a mainboard smaller than a standard business card that contains not only all the silicon to run full x86 PC applications, but also a CDMA chip. All on a platform compact and thin enough to fit inside a mobile phone.

Well, that is all of our show floor coverage for this year!  Be sure to check out our previous Computex 2007 Coverage as we have a plane to catch and the show is now over!
